Buy Back Home Repair

When Habitat homeowners retire, downsize or move on to a market-rate home, they sell their home back to Habitat GSF assuring that every Habitat home remains affordable. Our construction crew then goes in to make any renovations or repairs to refresh it for the next homeowner.

As soon as homes are bought back by Habitat GSF, our construction crew determines the work needed to get the home ready for the next eligible household. Volunteers may assist our construction staff in any repairs, which can include tasks like demo work, laying new floors, and painting. Unlike Home Preservation where repairs are made to occupied homes, “Buy Back” homes are empty, waiting for a little love. No experience is necessary, just the ability to follow instructions and a desire to have a good day’s work.
