Office/Projects/Special Skills

At Habitat GSF's office in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District, our administrative staff supports the field work. When our office staff is stretched thin, outside support provides a welcome reprieve and helps increase their capacity. Remotely or in person, volunteers lend their skills to help our staff fulfill the vital mission of building homes and sustaining affordable homeownership opportunities in the Bay Area.
Office tasks can depend on current projects. Typically, our staff makes a request for a specific volunteer opportunity which is then posted on the website. Occasionally, individuals from the community reach out to offer their services. This sometimes results in engagement as the resource offered can spark ideas internally! Support can be ongoing or limited in duration. Tasks can include data entry, research, mailings, phone calls, language translation, etc. Knowledge of Microsoft Suite is helpful. Other skills such as photography, graphic design, and CAD are also welcome.
Volunteer Services staff will reach out to the potential volunteer to explore the offer further and arrange involvement when appropriate. Signing a non-disclosure form is required and screening may include a background check and references depending on the level of access to information.
More details are included in Opportunities. Minimum age is 16. Volunteers are scheduled to work at the office Monday through Friday from 9 - 4:30PM, depending on their assigned supervisor.
