Home Preservation work in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco addresses deferred maintenance for low-income homeowners. Volunteers will do construction-related repair work to help longtime homeowners maintain their assets for future generations.
Address: Due to the sensitive nature of working at a private home, the exact address will be emailed to volunteers the day before the volunteer shift.
Scope of Work: Over 3 days, depending on the progress, the tasks can be any of the following: 1) Leveling area for playhouse 2) Moving soil to truck for haul-off 3) build masonry retaining wall steps to BBQ area 4) spread gravel on flat area 5) put playhouses together.

8:45- 9:00 AM Check In
9:00 - 9:15 AM Orientation and scope of work
9:15 - 12:00 PM Work
12:00 - 12:30 PM Lunch
12:30 - 3:00 Work
Come Prepared: Dress for the weather in clothing you don’t mind getting ruined, and sturdy, closed-toed footwear. Work will be outside so please make sure to wear a hat and sunblock. If you have your own work gloves, please bring them as we have a limited supply onsite. Bring lunch and a water bottle. Please review the Ten Top Safety Tips while working at a construction site.
Parking: Neighborhood parking may be limited so beware of posted rules. Carpool or take public transit if possible.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
Weather: We work rain or shine. You will receive a text message by 7AM if your shift has been canceled due to unfavorable weather.
