Help run a fundraising event on Market Street, SF!
What: Habitat for Humanity Greater SF engages corporate groups in Playhouse Builds, four-hour sponsored events when multiple small teams assemble playhouses with hand tools and power tools and finish them off with hand-painted designs.
Who: Appropriate for volunteers 16 and over, event support volunteers (you!) will work with Habitat staff overseeing the event. Volunteers from the event sponsor will be making the playhouses.
When: You'll be helping before the event, during the event, and after the event concludes
How:
-Before the event: In addition to being trained how to guide the team, you will help set up the event by arranging tools, paint, playhouse components, to be used during the event.
-During the event: Assist participants and help run the event smoothly by helping participants and keeping the event organized. You will learn how to assemble the playhouse to guide volunteers
-After the event: Cleaning and organizing after the event. Help put tools and material away, wash paint brushes used during the event, etc.
Why: This fundraising and team building event brings people together to support Habitat's mission of building affordable homes and give back to the community. The Playhouses are donated for free to local daycares, preschools, childcare centers, churches, and non-profits
Location: 333 Market Street, San Francisco (Between Beale and Fremont)
Parking: The least expensive parking around the area that we've found is 150 California Street. Otherwise, we recommend that you take public transport since there is easy access by bus and BART
Reminders: Please make sure to wear work clothes that you don't mind getting ruined/paint on and closed-toe shoes. On occasion, our corporate sponsor includes staff and volunteers for lunch but just in case, please make sure to bring your lunch unless you are otherwise informed. Water and snacks will be available.

Weather: Builds staged outdoors at our sponsor's site may be canceled. You will receive a text by 7AM on your volunteer day if your shift is canceled.
