Join us in the beautiful coastal town of Bolinas to ready two prefabricated homes. Starting June 8, from Wednesday to Saturday, we will build and install fences, decks and landscaping with a goal to finish at the end of the month. Volunteers 16 and older are welcome to work alongside prospective homeowners as they work towards their dream of owning their own home in Marin.

Scope of Work:
August 16-17: Clean up the site and layout planting areas
August 23 - 24 Plant 200 shrubs and perennials, mulch, and water
Getting there: We appreciate your desire to help in this location as Bolinas is a little remote and the roads, winding. Unfortunately, easy public transportation is non-existent. Make sure that you turn on your GPS before you get in too deep as cell signal may be spotty.
Prepare: To be ready for strenuous physical labor, please get a good night’s sleep and a full breakfast before your build day. Snacks and water will be available but please remember to pack a lunch. There are no places close by to purchase food. Also, review the Top 10 Safety Tips before coming to the site. Remember to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes (work boots are ideal), long pants, and a long sleeves shirt that you don’t mind getting dirty/ruined. If you have your own mask, work gloves and safety goggles, please bring them. Although we have limited PPE available, bringing your own helps us reduce costs. Prepare to be outside in any weather with layers and sun protection. Leave valuables at home, and please watch this safety video to learn about your volunteer day and ways you can stay safe at the construction site.

Check-in: Begins 15 mins before start time.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
Weather: In general, we work rain or shine. However, this site can get muddy so you will receive a text by 7AM on your volunteer day if your shift is canceled due to unfavorable weather.
