Women Build this year is all about resales! When a homeowner is ready to move on to a new home, to ensure the home remains affordable for the long term, we buy back that home, make any necessary renovations and sell it to a new homeowner family. That’s where you come in! You will be helping make renovations to a home in Hunters Point, San Francisco.
There are plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, with tasks including, interior demolition, floor replacement, cabinetry, painting, deck replacement, and landscaping. We’ll provide a Women Build tee, lunch and all the tools and training you need!

Prepare: To be ready for strenuous physical labor, please get a good night’s sleep and a full breakfast before your build day. Please review the Top 10 Safety Tips before coming to the site. Remember to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty/ruined. If you have your own work gloves and safety goggles to use, please bring them. Although we have PPE available, bringing your own helps us reduce waste as well as our costs.
Depending on the scope of work, prepare to be outside in any weather with layers and sun protection. If the weather forecast is bad, you will receive notice by 7:00 am on your build day for an update. Leave valuables at home, and please watch this safety video to learn about your volunteer day and ways you can stay safe at the construction site.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
