We're excited to have you participate in our "Buy Back" Program! It is an important strategy for keeping affordable homeownership opportunities available in our region. Habitat GSF is able to buy back homes from current families looking to sell their homes for reasons such retirement or downsizing. We repair and resell the home to another low-income family, keeping these affordable homes in our communities.

Scope of Work: It's a list! Clean all supply and exhaust registers, replace/clean smoke detectors, verify all switches and outlets work, patch holes in walls, clean and paint all interior walls and ceilings, caulk kitchen backsplash, replace two missing closet shelf poles, install new refrigerator, washer, dryer, dishwasher, range, and do final cleaning including windows.

Prepare: To be ready for strenuous physical labor, please get a good night’s sleep and a full breakfast before your build day. Please review the Top 10 Safety Tips before coming to the site. Remember to bring your lunch and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty/ruined. If you have your own work gloves and safety goggles to use, please bring them. Although we have PPE available, bringing your own helps us reduce waste as well as our costs.
Depending on the scope of work, prepare to be outside in any weather with layers and sun protection. If the weather forecast is bad, you will receive notice by 7:00 am on your build day for an update. Leave valuables at home, and please watch this safety video to learn about your volunteer day and ways you can stay safe at the construction site.
Waitlist: Names on the waitlist will be added to the shift as spots come open. We can only take volunteers listed on the day's roster because the scope of work pre-planned and limited. We cannot take "walk-ins."
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
