Home Preservation work in the Bayview neighborhood of San Francisco addresses deferred maintenance for low-income homeowners. Volunteers will do construction-related repair work to help longtime homeowners maintain their assets for future generations.
Address: Due to the sensitive nature of working at a private home, the exact address will be emailed to volunteers the day before the volunteer shift.
Scope of Work: Rebuilding fences, painting, landscaping, decks, home organization, etc. No experience is necessary.

Come Prepared: Dress for the weather in clothing you don’t mind getting ruined, and sturdy, closed-toed footwear. Bring lunch and a water bottle. Parking may be limited so beware of posted rules. Carpool or take public transit if possible. Please review the Ten Top Safety Tips while working at a construction site.
Age Requirement: All volunteers must be at least 16 years old. Minors must have their waiver signed by a parent/guardian.
Weather: We work rain or shine. You will receive a text message by 7AM if your shift has been canceled due to unfavorable weather.
Contact Tracing: Attendance is recorded strictly at the site to help facilitate contact tracing. Volunteers must report to Habitat staff if they experience Covid-19 symptoms or receive a positive diagnosis in the 2 weeks following their volunteer day. Reports will be shared with others who worked on that day but sources will remain anonymous.
